REBEKAH -flower garden (2)

Today I'm popping by with a quick simple card to showcase one of the new flower stamps in the new Flower Garden set. Gorgeous, large flowers to add to any crafty project. I printed mine out a few times and coloured them by hand with water colour pencils then fussy cut them out. i used a couple different thickness 3D foam tapes to get different levels to my bunch of flowers.. I just picture walking by a garden fence and seeing bunches of blooms.

Speaking of garden fences, I painted and distressed a wooden fence piece I had lying around and used a great patterned paper from CD #1-Creating with Vintage patterns..

birthday blessings...

REBEKAH- Birthday Present Mini cards (1)

In my little circle we've got a lot of upcoming  birthdays, which means a lot of presents. With all the celebrating, and little time, I needed a little something to attach to gifts. I was able to whip up a couple mini present shaped cards, using some of my Crafty Secrets printed paper scraps. I usually put all of my scraps in a file folder just for this occasion. The idea came to me after seeing these on the Moxie Fab site awhile ago. Instead of Washi I used pretty paper scraps.

It's so much fun to mix and match papers. Stick them all together overlapping slightly and then after adding some lace and tying a ribbon around, securing to a small card base. Super sweet and simple. The gorgeous sentiment is from the Crafty Secrets "Angel Blessings" set. Add any kind of embellies... sky's the limit.

I hope you'll try your own present shaped mini's.

Crafty Secrets May Linky Party...

Hey there!!
The Crafty Secrets gals are back for an all new Linky party. This month we are focusing on techniques. There's a ton of great information on all the DT blogs today so make sure to hop over to each one for a new technique.

009

Today I'm here to share my project using paper piecing.  I chose a pretty file from CD #2 Creating with Vintage Illustrations. Gather up all of your supplies.. Some craft glue, scissors, Gesso and a paint brush or two.

011

I printed my image to the size of my chipboard album and printed it 3 times. Twice on heavier card stock, and once on regular paper.

015

Add a good amount of glue to the chipboard and carefully glue the image printed on regular paper down.

016

Add some gesso to the edges of the image to soften it and paint the edges too. I watered down my gesso by about 10% to make it easier to blend on the image.

021

Here's a view of the before and after. Just softening the edges but still able to see the pretty font through the gesso.

026

With the gesso feel free to add some texture. Use thicker gesso and your brush to leave brush strokes etc. Kind of hard to see here but it has a nice texture in person.

030

Time to cut out the individual pieces that you want to add drama. Here I cut the edges of the butterfly wings, to add to the second butterfly. Cut out which ever pieces you want to pop out.

033

Use all different thickness of foam adhesive to achieve height.

062061

Add dimension and some embellishes.

065077

I added a little tag and some ribbons and buttons. This could be used as a plaque or as a cover for a mini album. I'm not quite sure what I will use it for just yet.
Be sure to check out the Crafty Vintage Girl shop for the 30% off sale to snag yourself some great Crafty Secrets Products and hop by the rest of the DT for step by steps and other great info:

totally textured...TSTR #165

Happy Monday to you all! We're back again with a brand new challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room. I have the pleasure of being your host, and this week it's all about texture! Play along and create a card or project using:
                                                  *DRY EMBOSSING
                                                  *STITCHING

Isn't that phot just full of different textures. It's love! I just love using both of these to add detail and interest to cards. This week Debbie's Paper Sweeties are sponsoring us and I used the beautiful Fancy Monogram stamps for my banner. They are so intiricate and have such a lovely detail.

036

I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder and hand stitched the bird. Just love how subtle the swirls are.

038 (2)

Those beautiful monograms, just adding to the sweetness.

REBEKAH TSTR #165

A little texture goes a long way I say. Play along with us this week and you could win 2 stamp sets from Paper Sweeties! Be sure to visit the other Shabby Girls!
